Akasha Absher, Chief Consulting Officer
Akasha Absher serves as Syntrinsic’s Chief Consulting Officer, charged with overseeing the firm’s efforts to create enduring strategic partnerships with our clients to craft best in class stewardship platforms that will allow them to have a meaningful impact in the community. She also serves as Consultant on client relationships and as a voting member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Akasha came to Syntrinsic after serving as a credit research analyst, trader, and portfolio manager for over a decade.
Prior to joining Syntrinsic, Akasha actively managed and traded a $100m long/short portfolio of credit issues and indexes for Lucidus Capital Partners. Previously, she analyzed high yield and distressed securities at Caxton Associates and JP Morgan, where she served as a Vice President and senior publishing analyst. Akasha earned her Bachelors of Arts in Finance from Clark Atlanta University and her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Ross Business School at the University of Michigan. She has earned her Series 65 through FINRA.
Akasha currently is serving as a Board Member of Florence Crittenton Services of Colorado and Vice Chair of the Development Committee, a Board of Advisors Member of Colorado Succeeds, and a Co-Chair of the Women’s Foundation of Colorado’s Power of Extended Philanthropy Club. She is a graduate of the Denver Metro Chamber’s Leadership Foundation, Leadership Denver Class of 2015.
Akasha and her husband moved to Colorado in 2013 from New York City to enjoy family and mountains.
