Gary J Sanchez has joined Syntrinsic Investment Counsel as VP, Consultant. He’ll focus on advising institutional and private clients.

A third-generation Colorado resident, Sanchez grew up in the Globeville and Sunnyside neighborhoods of Denver, both known as chronically underprivileged areas physically isolated from the rest of Denver.

Despite a childhood surrounded by crime, poverty, and family substance abuse, he was fortunate to find education as a path to progress and became the first person in his family to attend university.

After obtaining his BA in Communications from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo., in 2006, Gary headed back south to Denver with his soon-to-be wife to work at OppenheimerFunds which later became acquired by Invesco.

As a Vice President and Senior Consultant at Invesco – a $1.3 trillion asset management firm – Gary served as a resource, collaborator, and business coach to some of the largest producing financial advisors in the state, helping them build and evolve their practices to better address their clients’ needs.

For his coaching clients, Sanchez helped curate and deliver a multi-pronged approach to new business development, world class client service standards, and a holistic financial literacy program targeted to bend the curve towards better money and wealth management across the metro Denver area.

After 12 years at the firm and looking to make more of an impact to the local community with his career, Sanchezstepped away from his role at Invesco to join Syntrinsic.  At Syntrinsic Gary is able to take his experiences in financial modeling, behavioral finance and holistic financial education to the non-profit world where he can help mission led organizations fulfill their purpose into the indefinite future.
