Chief Investment Officer
Jennifer joined Syntrinsic in 2021 in order to further her interest in helping mission-aligned clients invest their capital with a focus on both profit and purpose. Her background combines institutional financial analysis with impact investment and ESG-focused disciplines; working with Syntrinsic allows her to combine these passions.
In her role as Chief Investment Officer, Jennifer is responsible for setting the firm’s capital markets strategy and managing the Syntrinsic investment platform. She enjoys working closely with the Lead Consultants and the Chief Impact Officer to define asset allocation targets and develop mission-aligned investment strategies for clients.
Previously, Jennifer worked in market strategy and manager research at Cornerstone Capital Group, where she developed the firm’s market outlook and expanded the sustainable investment platform, as well as launching and co-managing the firm’s first mutual fund offering. Prior to that, Jennifer co-led the impact investing practice at The CAPROCK Group in Boise, Idaho. She previously worked in equity research at both Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, and was the CFO of SKS Microfinance, which was one of the largest microfinance institutions in India.
Jennifer has an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School and an MA in International Studies from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a CFA charter holder and a former American India Foundation William J. Clinton Fellow. She serves on the board of an Indian educational non-profit that provides underprivileged youth with job training skills and matches them with potential employers. Outside of work, Jennifer regularly practices yoga and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
“I am passionate about both financial inclusion and education-related investments, as I view these as key pathways out of poverty.”
