Tom Owens serves as Vice President, Consultant for Syntrinsic Investment Counsel, working closely with the firm’s private clients providing customized investment advice and strategic planning.
Prior to joining Syntrinsic, Tom spent many years as a professional chef. After a successful career as a chef, Tom went back to school and obtained a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and finance from Colorado State University (CSU). Upon graduation from CSU, he was hired by Charles Schwab. Over his 10+ years with Schwab he held several positions, including roles within Brokerage Services, Equity Compensation, 529 College Planning and Private Client Services.
Tom has earned many industry licenses over the years, including the FINRA Series 7, 63 and 66. He has also completed required coursework for his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and intends to sit for the final exam in the coming months.
Originally from the east coast of Virginia, Tom moved to Colorado in 1989, and aside from a three-year stint in Boston, he has been a Colorado resident since then. He is a die-hard Denver Broncos fan. When not watching Broncos games with family he can be found hiking or fishing the Colorado mountains with his beautiful wife and their dog Honey Bear.
