Mike Sebastian leads the firm’s research efforts, including in the areas of strategic and near-term asset allocation and investment manager selection. He serves as the chair of the Syntrinsic Investment Committee.

Mike joined Syntrinsic after working as Chief Investment Officer at NextCapital Group, a fintech startup. Before that, he served in a number of roles at Aon’s investment consulting and outsourced chief investment officer organization, including Global Chief Investment Officer, and also founding the investment team at the firm’s innovation center in Singapore.

Mike holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and taught as head teaching assistant there, and as an adjunct at Northwestern University. He serves on the Finance and Talent Committees, for Cara Collective, a nonprofit organization focused on workforce development.

Mike loves to spend time with his wife Deirdre and his two sons. He enjoys traveling and photography, especially landscapes.
