Rachel Martin joined Syntrinsic Investment Counsel in October 2021 seeking to continue working with the non-profit community. She strives to help mission-directed organizations succeed in the financial world and serve her community towards a more sustainable future.
Rachel began her journey with non-profits over ten years ago by serving on the board of Weissberg Foundation. Going on to work with multiple organizations including The Global Fund for Women and The Institute for Workplace Equality, she developed respect and reverence for the philanthropic community. Rachel also spent several years teaching yoga full-time to private clients and trauma-informed yoga to underserved communities including teaching yoga in prisons.
After earning a bachelor’s at New York University in psychology, criminology, and alternative health, Rachel went on to receive an MBA from the University of Denver to develop a better understanding of finance. She earned her Series 65 license through FINRA.
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys hiking, skiing, and traveling, both nationally and internationally. She can be found practicing yoga, hiking with her dog, and spending time with family. Rachel currently resides in the DC area where her family is located.
“The person who has had the biggest impact on my life is my grandfather Marvin Weissberg who passed away in May of 2021. His zest for philanthropy, love of travel, and compassion for all human beings inspires me to be a better person every day.”
