Denver (May 13, 2020) — Syntrinsic announces that Jim Brauer is joining the company as Director, Consulting. In his new role, he will work closely with Syntrinsic’s clientele of community foundations, private foundations, public charities, and other philanthropic entities and families, providing investment advice and strategic guidance to support their missions.
Brauer is joining Syntrinsic after almost 20 years at TIAA in Denver where most recently he served as Director of Endowment and Philanthropic Services.

Brauer graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He has earned many licenses over the years, including his FINRA Series 66, as well as his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) certifications.
Active in the Denver community, Brauer serves on Mile High United Way’s Finance/Investment committee; volunteers as a mentor and mentor ambassador with City Year Denver; is an alum of the Downtown Denver Partnership’s Leadership Program; and is a member of the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable and the Colorado Nonprofit Association.
